about the project

Note: To respect confidentiality, this case study is presented as a white-label version under the name PowerAudit.

PowerAudit is a cross-platform application designed to support on-site technicians in conducting energy and decarbonization assessments.

Main Issue: Previously, the process relied on handwritten notes and fragmented Excel workflows, making it slow, inconsistent, and hard to scale.

The Solution: A digital workflow for on-site data collection, combined with automated report generation, bringing structure, speed, and consistency to the entire process.

The Result: Reduced assessment time by 15%, increased profitability by ~10%, while improving data reliability and cutting reporting effort.

I worked on this project end-to-end, from research and problem definition to ideation and final high-fidelity designs.

Defining The Problem

Through stakeholder alignment and early discovery, the core problem became clear: energy assessments relied on handwritten notes and disconnected Excel workflows, resulting in slow execution, inconsistent outputs, and limited scalability. This defined the focus for the design work.

Research, Ideate and Prototyping

I began by identifying the key user types involved in the assessment process, ensuring the solution addressed their specific needs and contexts of use. From there, I mapped user flows to structure the end-to-end experience and uncover friction points in the workflow.

These flows informed a set of low-fidelity wireframes, which I used to quickly explore ideas and align with stakeholders. Once the direction was validated, I transitioned to high-fidelity mockups, refining the experience and preparing it for implementation.
